Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines 2012

Cebu Philippines - Estimated 31 Countries and 1,700 international and local athletes accepted the challenge of Cobra's Eronman 70.3 Philippines,

Cebu hosted the 4rth year of cobra ironman 70.3 philippines and for the first time to do a 1.9km swimming category in a open sea, thus it gaves more challenging routine for the triathloners at the Shangrilla mactan beach resort and spa.







Triathlon?

 Triathlon is a multistage competitions. It is a completion of three continuous and sequential endurance events and has many variations but the most popular is the Swimming, Cycling, and Running. In this event their are two categories, you can compete with team(relay) or individual category(solo).

Problems

Problems arrised when the event is started but as the public advices the enclosure of the punta engaño road to ML. Quezon ave. all up the way to the junction of the marcelo fernan bridge.

Mactan police says that "the main problem of the event are not heavy traffic beacause the traffic warning advisory are announced 3 days before the day of the event". However their are some people being shocked from this traffic on the roads that mentioned above.Eventually the traffic are  being monitored by our traffic official and the ironman marshal which stayed from the begging till the end of the event.On the other hand crowed are getting bigger beacause of the Celebrity contestants like piolo Pascual, Kim Atienza, Matteo Guidicelli and Ms. Pia Cayatano and thus this becomes the headache of the policeman and marshal beacause some people cross the lanes for them to the stars.

Results

In the 4th year of Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines - The declared winner is the Austrialian professional Triathlete Mr Pete Jacobs which finish the race at a time of 4h. 7min. 38s. for the second is from New Zealand, Mr Cameron browne at a time of 4h. 09min. 01s. and third is a filipino- Mathieu O' Halloran at a time of 4h. 19min 32s.
